Sermon On the Net

I AM …????

In the 3rd chapter of Corinthians Paul chastises them because of the divisions created by one saying he is of Paul and another of Apollos. Today we have similar divisions with people saying: ‘I am a Catholic’, I am a Protestant, I am a Mormon, I am Hindu, I am a Christian, etc.,etc.,etc.

To be a Christian, according to the Bible, (the word of God I might add), one must be a follower of Jesus. The term ‘Christian’ (Christ like) was created during the time of Christ for those following Jesus. Today we very loosely, apply the term to almost all religions.

I believe, based on Biblical principles, that to be a valid Biblical Christian, one must be an unrestricted follower of Jesus without any, and I mean without any intermediaries. If you take a moment and reflect on this thought and consider the fact that on Judgment Day when you face God, who will be your intermediary? Will it be your ‘religion’ or will it be Jesus? Will He see the doctrine of your religion or will He see the perfection in you made possible by your acceptance of Jesus as your Savior?

It is your call and yours alone.
